Since 1988, Dr. Donald Bowden has served as the relentless engine that has transformed Canajoharie High School into a technology leader in the Mohawk Valley in upstate New York.  When Dr. Bowden arrived at the school, there was no cable television capability and no computers.  Almost immediately Dr. Bowden began working with teachers, community members and used every resource available to change that picture.  And change it, he did. 

Says his nominator Richard Rose, “Dr. Bowden, has almost single-handedly, enhanced almost every facet of our school by providing technology resources, training and insisting on its use.”    He adds, “The latest technology is beyond the capacity of the area's tax base, but it is not beyond the ingenuity and resourcefulness of Dr. Bowden.”  Recently recognized as the Capital Area’s Principal of the Year, Dr. Bowden can now add Time Warner Cable’s Champion Principal to his list of credits.
